Sr. Manager, Supply Chain
huMannity Medtec
Overview At huMannity Medtec, you don’t just build a career—you help change lives. As a nonprofit medical research and development organization with a nearly 40-year legacy of innovation, we pioneer life‑enhancing technologies for patients with unmet healthcare needs, turning bold ideas into real-world solutions through collaboration across engineering, science, and clinical expertise. Here, curiosity is encouraged, challenges are meaningful, and every project has the potential to make a lasting human impact—because improving lives isn’t just our mission, it’s what we do every day. The Senior Manager, Supply Chain leads supply chain operations supporting a fast-paced medical device R&D and low-volume manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for supplier management, procurement, inventory control, production planning, warehouse operations, and material readiness for engineering builds, clinical studies, pilot manufacturing, and technology transfers to contract manufacturers and strategic partners. This role is ideal for a hands-on, operationally focused leader who thrives in dynamic environments requiring structure, transformation, and continuous improvement — not someone seeking a highly mature organization currently operating on autopilot. The successful candidate will serve as a key change-agent helping modernize and scale the company’s Supply Chain organization, ERP and related systems, processes, planning capabilities, and cross-functional integration. This position will play a major leadership role in the company’s ERP transformation initiative, helping implement and operationalize a new enterprise system while simultaneously sustaining day-to-day operations in a rapidly evolving business environment. Successful candidates are comfortable building structure within evolving environments, balancing strategic improvements with hands-on operational execution, and leading through ambiguity and change. Key Responsibilities Supply Chain Operations Leadership Lead the transformation and continuous improvement of Supply Chain operations, systems, workflows, and team capabilities. Establish a scalable Supply Chain organization that serves as the central coordination point for material planning, visibility, and execution across the company. Lead integrated production planning (IPP) activities supporting engineering builds, pilot production, verification testing, clinical studies, and manufacturing operations. Ensure Supply Chain activities comply with company procedures, ISO 13485 requirements, and applicable regulatory standards. Oversee procurement, planning, inventory management, shipping/receiving, material kitting, and work order support for Manufacturing. ERP Leadership and Inventory Management Lead Supply Chain participation in ERP implementation and process alignment, including procurement, inventory management, planning, warehouse management, logistics, and related workflows. Oversee inventory accuracy, cycle counts, material traceability, and ERP transactions within a regulated medical device environment. Improve inventory visibility, safety stock management, operational efficiency, and data integrity. Help develop scalable reporting structures, KPIs, and operational processes appropriate for a growing organization. Communication, Planning & Operational Execution Partner closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, QA, PMO, Finance, and Operations to proactively plan material needs, resolve issues, and support program execution. Lead IPP activities with strong accountability, active listening, follow-through, and actionable solutions. Maintain proactive, clear, concise, and professional communication across all levels of the organization. Balance urgent operational needs and tactical daily execution with long-term planning, process improvements, and scalability initiatives. Proactively identify risks, capacity constraints, and resource gaps before they impact program timelines. Escalate risks early and develop contingency and recovery plans to minimize operational disruptions and avoid delays. Ensure commitments are realistic, aligned, and consistently executed with prioritization, accountability, and operational discipline. Team Development Lead, coach, and develop Supply Chain personnel across procurement, planning, warehouse, and logistics functions. Establish clear roles, accountability, cross-training, and backup coverage across the team. Foster a collaborative, service-oriented culture built on trust, professionalism, communication, responsiveness, accountability, mutual respect and continuous improvement. Support ongoing team development in ERP systems, Excel, procurement/planning, and operational best practices. Supplier Management & Procurement Develop and manage supplier relationships, sourcing strategies, procurement activities, supplier performance and issue resolution. Partner with Quality Assurance to ensure supplier qualification, Approved Supplier List (ASL) maintenance, CAPAs, audits, and compliance activities are properly executed. Develop contingency plans for supply continuity, long lead-time components, and supplier risks. Drive cost, lead-time, supplier performance, and process improvement initiatives. Qualifications - Required Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience in a highly regulated industry). 10+ years of Supply Chain, Procurement, Planning, or Operations experience in medical device, biotech, life sciences, or regulated manufacturing environments.
