Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Exciting opportunities are anticipated for experienced and passionate Special Education Teachers in San Francisco for the 2026-27 school year! Openings will be available throughout the city across all grade levels (PreK-12), with a strong, ongoing need for credentialed professionals in both Mild/Moderate Disabilities and Extensive Support Needs (Moderate/Severe), as well as Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE).
This is a great assignment for travel educators, as district schools are welcoming, supportive, and ready to help you succeed in your next adventure.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid California teaching credential in one or more of the following: Mild/Moderate Disabilities, Moderate/Severe (Extensive Support Needs), or Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE)
- Previous Special Education teaching experience in school settings preferred
- Passion for supporting students with diverse and complex learning needs
- Adaptability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication skills with students, families, and colleagues
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and administration
- Foster inclusive classroom environments that support each student’s growth and independence
- Participate in IEP meetings and ongoing assessment of students’ progress
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations
