1st Shift Production - Supervisor / Shift SupervisorResponsible for the day-to-day management of the production floor through supervision, development and training of the production team which includes approximately 20-30 associates. In addition, it is responsible for the efficient movement of product through the plant with a focus on quality and timeliness. Reports to the Plant Manager.Title: 1st Shift Production - Supervisor / Shift SupervisorReports to: Plant ManagerDepartment: ProductionSchedule: 5:00AM-3:30PM; Monday-FridayCompensation: $75,000-$85,000Duties & Responsibilities:Tasks related to this position may vary and are not limited to those listed below:Follows and enforces established safety rules, ISO standards policies and procedures at all timesDirects supervision of production staff including recruiting, selecting, training and developing associates through coaching and disciplinary actionsUses a Customer Driven approach to achieve KPI targets and engage associates in the improvement process (i.e. production quality, output, processes and efficiencies)Leads work teams focused on continuous improvement in safety, productivity, waste and quality improvementMaintains timekeeping and personnel records for all direct reportsMaintains efficient workflows by monitoring processes and variables; implements cost reductions; develops reporting procedures and systemsCompletes production plan by establishing priorities, monitoring progress, revising production schedules, resolving problems and reporting results or issuesEnsure operation of equipment by calling for repairs; assists in troubleshooting machine issuesProvides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requestsCreates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, budgetary and personnel requirementsMaintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing associates on the use of all equipment and safety protocolsMaintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publicationsAssists with hands-on operation of machines, including operating and feeding press machines that require a full awareness of surroundings, machine pinch points and safety protocolsOperate forklift, as needed, in tight spaces with human trafficSkill Set:Proficient in lean methodsProficient in Amtech job costing moduleProficient in Amtech RPM moduleStrong communication skills and mentoring skillsAbility to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manualsQualifications Desired:High school diploma / GEDExperience in the corrugated packaging industry highly preferredCertified forklift operatorWorking knowledge of all production machines, plant equipment and operationsResults-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environmentDemonstrates aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customersExcellent interpersonal, organizational, verbal and written communication skillsDrives results through othersAssertive leader who holds self and others accountable2-5 Years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environmentPhysical Requirements:Regularly stand, walk, and communicate throughout the manufacturing facility.Frequently bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach.Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Work safely around moving equipment, forklifts, and production machinery.Ability to maintain awareness of surroundings, machine pinch points, and safety hazards.Possess close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.About BCI:Buckeye Corrugated, Inc.
