Registered Nurse (RN) - Heart Failure Unit

Full Time - Day/Midnight rotating (7A-7P & 7P-7A)

Hours: 72 hours/pay

Weekends and holidays as required.

The Heart Failure Unit (5E) at Christiana Hospital is a 36-bed specialized post-critical care complex cardiac unit providing high-acuity care to patients with complex heart failure and post-operative cardiac needs. Within the unit, 12 beds are designated for post-operative open-heart surgery and LVAD patient population requiring advanced clinical expertise and specialized nursing competencies.

As a Registered Nurse on 5E, you will provide comprehensive nursing care to patients who may have chest tubes and surgical drains, large-bore central venous catheters, and external cardiac pacing wires . RNs are responsible for advanced assessment, continuous hemodynamic and cardiac monitoring, medication administration, patient education, and early detection of changes in patient condition.

Education & Requirements:

• BSN preferred
• Commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of date of hire required.
• At least one year of experience as a Registered Nurse required
• Previous stepdown experience preferred
• Previous critical care experience preferred
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of Delaware

Hourly Pay Range: $41.28 - $66.05

This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare's good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting. The actual salary within this range offered to a successful candidate will depend on individual factors including without limitation skills, relevant experience, and qualifications as they relate to specific job requirements.
