Urgent Care Physician

Colonial Healthcare, part of the Optum family, is seeking a dedicated Urgent Care Physician to join their team in Sumter, SC. As a clinician-led organization, Optum provides extensive resources and support to empower physicians in advancing community health and contributing to new practice initiatives.Practice InfoColonial Healthcare is a growing multi-specialty healthcare organization in South Carolina.The role involves working in a clinical setting across two locations: Sumter and Manning, South Carolina.The practice is open 7 days per week.ResponsibilitiesProvide direct patient care for a wide range of urgent medical conditions.Perform minor procedures and interpret diagnostic tests (e.G., X-rays, EKGs, labs, CT scans, ultrasound, MRI, echocardiogram, PFT, urodynamic tests).Develops and implements patient management plans, records progress notes, and assists in provision of continuity of care.Communicate with patients regarding testing results, follow-up care, and additional information.Prescribe pharmaceuticals, other medications, and treatment regimens as appropriate to assessed medical conditions.Refer patients to specialists and to relevant patient care components as appropriate.Collaborate with advanced practice providers and clinical staff to ensure seamless patient care.Document patient encounters accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.Compensation$25,000 Sign-on Bonus for External CandidatesThe salary range for this role is $222,500 to $376,500 per year.Salary Range is defined as total cash compensation at target.Urgent care providers have an opportunity to work additional shifts for a pre-determined stipend amount and / or work in the primary care setting.BenefitsA comprehensive benefits packageIncentive and recognition programsEquity stock purchase and 401k contributionShift & ScheduleM-F 7:30am-6pmSat/Sun - 7:30am - 5pmProviders are required to work 13 shifts per monthClinician will work rotating shifts between our two locations, Sumter and Manning, South Carolina.RequirementsRequired: M.D. or D.O. from an accredited School of MedicineRequired: Board Certification in a specialty field (Emergency, Family or Internal Medicine preferred)Required: Active, unrestricted license to practice medicine in South Carolina (or willingness to obtain)Required: Active DEA license with no restrictionsRequired: Ability to obtain ACLS & BLS certification within 90 days of employmentRequired: Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, and ExcelPreferred: Experience with EMR systemsPreferred: Solid knowledge of urgent care protocols and proceduresPreferred: Familiarity with OSHA and HIPAA regulationsPreferred: Commitment to quality, safety, and infection control standards
