Position Details Position: Residential Manager Location: Griffin, GA Job Id: 9591 # of Openings: 1 Program: Georgia ID/DD Services Reports to: Coordinator of Residential Services/QDDP FLSA Status: Non-Exempt Pay: Starting at $17.00/hr. Function The Residential Manager is responsible for assisting individuals with intellectual disabilities to engage in activities to learn new skills, increase community participation, and develop natural supports. RM will assist individuals in participating in social, educational, and recreational activities, as well as assist with daily living skills as needed. The RM will promote choice and provide supports and services as outlined in individual’s person‑centered plan. RMs will strive to create a fun and enjoyable atmosphere to encourage active participation and satisfaction of services. Responsibilities Oversee daily operation of residential services to include purchasing groceries and other supplies as needed. Coordinate and implement program activities for the residential group homes. Ensure compliance with DBHDD IDD residential services standards and VOA policies and procedures. Review MARs and medication inventories to ensure appropriate medication management which includes timely refills and any necessary arrangements with medical staff for new prescriptions. Provide staff coverage and direct service duties as needed. Oversee the management of medical appointments and ensure that appropriate transportation arrangements are made. Complete necessary reports in a timely manner (i.e., vehicle and facility inspections). Report vehicle or facility problems promptly. Monitor effective hand‑off communication at shift change. Take calls from staff about emergencies or critical issues after normal work hours and on weekends as assigned. Monitor the implementation of the Person‑Centered Plan and assist in accessing support needed to implement the plan to achieve the individual’s personal outcomes. Ensure that the facility/house is well maintained, clean and in compliance with all life/safety requirements. Participate in discharge planning when an individual leaves services. Demonstrate the ability to recognize the elements of a crisis state and to de‑escalate or resolve the situation. Effectively collaborate with the Person‑Centered team members and outside sources in the delivery of services. Provide transportation to individuals as needed, observing applicable laws, safety procedures and policies. Oversee money management with individuals supported. Support and encourage individuals in exercising their rights and making their own choices. Report any suspicion of abuse, neglect, mistreatment, and exploitation and fully cooperate in any investigation. Complete all required training in compliance with VOA Southeast’s policies and procedures and regulatory agency requirements. Perform additional duties as assigned by your supervisor. Qualifications The position requires a person eighteen (18) years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED. The position requires the ability to collaborate effectively with the individual receiving services, co‑workers, team members, family members, related agencies, and others. Good rapport with all parties involved is critical to ensuring quality service delivery. The position also requires the ability to assist individuals in achieving their personal goals while promoting dignity and respect. The Residential Manager must have good time‑management skills to support the needs of multiple people. The employee must possess good written and oral communication skills and a valid Alabama driver’s license. The Residential Manager must also be able to pass all required training courses including but not limited to First Aid, CPR, CPI and other trainings outlined in VOA Southeast’s Policies & Procedures.
