Athletic Trainer II

Job Summary Position is responsible for developing a community-based athletic training program with an emphasis on sports environment injury prevention and treatment. The incumbent serves as a physical therapy aide in the clinic under the direction of a licensed physical therapist. Minimum Qualifications Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training Licenses/Certifications: State of Texas Athletic Training Certification Experience / Knowledge / Skills: One (1) year of experience in Athletic Training Principal Accountabilities Develop and coordinate sports-specific clinics and/or screenings throughout the year in the community and school setting. Perform routine treatment procedures according to the patient treatment plan developed by a licensed physical therapist. Observe and report the patient’s condition, reactions, and responses to treatment procedures to the supervising physical therapist at the clinic. Maintain communications with other members of the healthcare team as indicated. Present relevant special topics in professional literature at clinic meetings, grand rounds, conferences, university settings, and meetings as delegated or requested by the faculty. Serve as a liaison in the provision of athletic training services to area schools as designated. Ensure safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adhere to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity, and quality of service. Promote individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; support department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serve as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
