Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Department

Location: Asheville, NC

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing exceptional care in a dynamic environment.

General Information

• Unit Name: Emergency Department
• Number of Beds: 101
• Patient Ratios: 4:1 typically; up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
• Documentation System: Cerner
• Dress Code: Navy scrubs

Unit Specifics

• Access to advanced medical equipment including Baxter pumps and GE monitors.
• Staffing includes technicians for cardiac monitoring, triage, and unit clerks available days and nights.
• All staff must adhere to patient experience guidelines including AIDET (Acknowledge, Introduce, Duration, Explanation, Thank You).

Job Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care in a fast-paced emergency department setting.
• Demonstrate flexibility and teamwork while working in all areas of the ED.
• Maintain clear communication with patients and their families throughout their visit.
• Participate in collaborative care planning and contribute to improving patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience as a nurse, with at least 1 year in an emergency department setting.
• Experience in a Level II trauma center or comprehensive stroke center, with a high volume of patient visits (over 100,000 annually) is preferred.
• Required certifications include ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC (within 90 days of hire).
