Quality Manager

Job Title: Quality Inspector Job Description

We are seeking a diligent and experienced Quality Inspector to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products meet quality standards by utilizing a variety of measurement tools and techniques in a metal manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Use calipers, micrometers, steel rulers, and optical non-contact visual inspection machines to measure length, height, and diameter.

• Read and interpret blueprints and specifications.

• Monitor operations to ensure they meet production standards.

• Recommend adjustments to assembly or production processes.

• Inspect, test, or measure materials or products being produced.

• Operate electronic inspection equipment and software, including coordinate-measuring machines (CMMs) and 3D scanners.

• Approve or reject raw materials or finished products based on quality standards, recording supplier performance.

• Remove products and materials that do not meet specifications.

• Report inspection and test data such as weights, temperatures, grades, moisture content, and quantities inspected.

• Prepare and submit reports to Quality Management.

• Assist production personnel in promoting ideas for controlling wasted materials and time.

• Maintain open communication with the QA Manager regarding revisions, updates, changes, and non-conformance.

• Facilitate ISO 9001 quality-related investigations and lead audits for the QMS.

• Lead investigations of customer complaints regarding quality.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.

• Experience with quality systems documentation and ERP systems.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

• Experience with Keyence measuring equipment or willingness to learn.

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to speak in meetings and with management.

• Independent decision-making skills and ability to manage one individual.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with non-contact measuring equipment.

• Familiarity with AS9100 standards for Aerospace quality.

• Experience with ISO 9001 implementation and audits.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Westfield, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
