We are actively hiring a Site Director to support our Valkyrie Clinical Trials San Diego, CA site.

LOCATION : Onsite, San Diego, CA
FLSA : Exempt
HOURS : Monday to Friday, Day Shift, 40 hours per week
Compensation :

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

Operational Leadership & Site Management

A.     Oversee day-to-day oncology site operations, ensuring compliance with FDA, ICH-GCP, and sponsor protocols.

B.      Implement and monitor operational and financial metrics including study volume, capacity planning, margins, and productivity.

C.      Lead development, execution, and continuous improvement of SOPs aligned with Flourish Research and oncology-specific requirements.

D.     Ensure high-quality study conduct, patient safety oversight, and robust PI/Sub-I engagement.

E.      Partner with Quality and Risk to achieve strong audit outcomes and uphold data integrity.

Financial & Business Management

A.     Own the oncology site P manage to margin/EBITDA targets.

B.      Develop and implement growth strategies to expand study volume, diversify oncology indications, and strengthen site competitiveness.

C.      Partner with Business Development to maintain sponsor relationships and attract new studies.

D.     Support financial budgeting, forecasting, and resource planning.

Oncology Strategy & Market Growth

A.     Leverage oncology market trends and sponsor pipelines to shape site strategy.

B.      Strengthen partnerships with oncology practices, referral networks, and community physicians.

C.      Contributes competitive positioning within the oncology site network landscape.

Team Leadership & Culture

A.     Recruit, mentor, and develop clinical and operational staff with oncology expertise.

B.      Champion patient-centered, mission-driven culture aligned with Flourish core values.

C.      Collaborate closely with investigators and medical leadership to support high-acuity oncology trials.

Technology, Systems & Integration

A.     Implement and optimize clinical systems, CTMS platforms, and workflow automation.

B.      Support integration across HR, IT, Quality, and Finance when applicable.

C.      Standardize processes and performance dashboards to drive operational excellence.

Regulatory, Quality & Compliance

A.     Maintain site-level adherence to GCP, ICH, FDA regulations, HIPAA, and oncology-specific safety requirements.

B.      Oversee staff competency, training, and readiness for audits and monitoring visits.

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS :

A.     Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment;

B.      Travel required; approx 30% but can vary

C.      Daily computer use;

D.     Ability to lift 25-35 pounds;

E.      Occasional night and weekend work schedules;

F.       Ability to drive, and daily availability of an automobile.

Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Healthcare, Nursing, or related field; advanced degree strongly preferred. 

Experience: 8–12+ years of clinical research experience, with at least 5 years in site operational leadership.  Direct oncology research experience required, minimum 2+ years. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

A.     Demonstrated success managing P&L, large teams, and complex clinical operations.

B.      Strong communication, leadership, conflict management, and process improvement skills.

C.      Exceptional knowledge of clinical research methods.

D.     Excellent oral and written communication skills.

E.      Excellent computer skills to include Office365 products.

F.       Experience in writing and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures.

G.     Strong problem solving, risk assessment and impact analysis abilities.

H.     Demonstrated experience in process improvement.

I.        Strong negotiation and conflict management skills.

J.        Flexible and able to multi-task and prioritize competing demands.

K.     Ability to think independently and influence when appropriate.
