Main Street, Huntley, IL 60142)Shift: 3rd ShiftHours: 10:45 PM – 7:00 AMPay Rate: $36.09/hour + $2.00/hour Shift DifferentialSummary DescriptionThe Maintenance Mechanic III is responsible for maintaining and repairing production equipment, facility systems, and plant infrastructure to ensure maximum equipment reliability and uptime. This highly skilled maintenance role requires advanced troubleshooting capabilities, PLC knowledge, preventive maintenance expertise, and the ability to support manufacturing operations independently.What You’ll Be DoingPerform repairs on production equipment, facility systems, and maintenance-related assetsConduct preventive maintenance activities on production and facility equipmentMaintain and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, plumbing, and HVAC systemsTroubleshoot equipment failures and identify root causesPerform routine maintenance on thermoforming machineryRead and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and mechanical drawingsComplete maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance documentation in IQMSRecord labor hours, project notes, and spare parts usage accuratelyMaintain spare parts inventories and support inventory management activitiesUtilize company vehicles to obtain supplies from local vendors as neededMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentAssist in supervising maintenance activities and supporting maintenance personnelIdentify maintenance deficiencies and recommend corrective actionsSupport continuous improvement and equipment reliability initiativesPerform welding, fabrication, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical repairs as requiredAdvanced Maintenance ResponsibilitiesLevel I CapabilitiesPerform preventive maintenance on production equipmentSafely operate hand tools, shop equipment, and forkliftsMaintain spare parts inventoriesWork independently while maintaining productivity and safety standardsProperly document maintenance activities in IQMSLevel II CapabilitiesTroubleshoot HVAC, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systemsRead and interpret technical schematics and drawingsPerform plumbing, welding, and electrical workInstall electrical services and perform fabrication workOpen and manage preventive maintenance work orders within IQMSLevel III CapabilitiesRead, troubleshoot, and program PLC logic independentlyDiagnose complex equipment issues and implement corrective actionsIdentify opportunities for reliability improvementsAssist with maintenance team leadership and coordinationSupport advanced troubleshooting and equipment optimization effortsWe’d Love to Hear From You IfYou have 2–5 years of industrial maintenance experienceYou have experience working in plastics or thermoforming manufacturing environments (preferred)You possess strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skillsYou can work with 480-volt electrical systemsYou can read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawingsYou have PLC troubleshooting and programming experienceYou have welding, fabrication, and machining experienceYou have strong shop math and measuring skillsYou are proficient with computers and maintenance management systemsYou work safely and independently in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentPreferred QualificationsHigh School Diploma or GEDForklift CertificationLockout/Tagout CertificationNFPA Electrical Training CertificationCertifications in machine repair, automated electronic systems, or chemical spill responseExperience with lathes, milling machines, grinders, and welding equipmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to stand, walk, climb, bend, reach, push, pull, and work throughout the shiftAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.Ability to push and pull up to 100 lbs.Ability to work in environments with noise, vibration, heat, cold, grease, lubricants, and chemicalsBenefitsAt TOPPAN Packaging Americas, we offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support overall wellbeing.
