Industrial Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift Location: Lake In The Hills, IL Schedule: 2nd Shift - Monday to Friday, 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM (Training on 1st shift for 6‑8 weeks) Compensation: $30‑34 per hour + $2.50 Second Shift Differential Job Summary AFC is seeking a hands‑on Industrial Maintenance Technician to support the repair, maintenance, and continuous improvement of production equipment and facilities. The role focuses on troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, performing preventive maintenance, and ensuring equipment operates safely and efficiently. Responsibilities Takes daily instruction and supervision from department lead and supervisor. Assembles and repairs frames, fixtures, process equipment, and drives. Troubleshoots and resolves issues in electrical controls and mechanical parts of machinery. Applies knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and assembly. Reads equipment prints and control diagrams to build machinery, enhance processes, and troubleshoot problems. Understands production processes. Maintains shop area and requisitions necessary parts. Troubleshoots and maintains control panels. Works safely with a wide variety of machines and hand tools (welders, torches, drills/drill press, grinders, volt meters, band saw, spray painting, forklifts, and high‑lift (JLG)). Performs light building maintenance; monitors building exterior and interior for maintenance needs and handles repairs. Monitors equipment for scheduled maintenance and repair. Performs scheduled maintenance and repairs on current machinery. Provides installation support for new equipment. Possesses knowledge of pipe fitting, wiring, and maintenance plumbing. Maintains maintenance logs, parts lists, and reference materials. Communicates with department managers and machine operators to gain a working knowledge of machines and resolve M&R issues. Works with maintenance system Limble: issues, assigns, and manages work orders; opens and closes tickets; follows PMs; manages maintenance reports; adds additional information on equipment. Trains others and understands the equipment. Embraces and models AFC's Core Values. Performs other duties as assigned. Engages in physical and visual activities: standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, reaching, climbing, handling, typing, feeling, hearing; acute vision (far and near), depth perception, field of vision, crouching, twisting. Regularly lifts/moves up to 50 pounds and occasionally team‑lifts/moves up to 100 pounds. Comfortable using powered manual lift (Genie or JLG) to service elevated machine parts. #J-18808-Ljbffr
