About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Endoscopy Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 8 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required - SC license or Compact license Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Ability to stay within 30 minutes of the facility for call purposes. Description: The position is for an Endoscopy Registered Nurse. The shift is from 06:30 to 15:00. In the procedure suite, the nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1. In the preoperative and discharge areas, the ratio can be 4:1. Weekends are required every third weekend. On-call duties are a requirement. The nurse may need to float within the scope to meet facility needs, although this is highly unlikely. First-time travelers are accepted for this position. Licensure in South Carolina or a Compact license must be obtained prior to starting. Required certifications include BLS and ACLS. The unit cares for adult and geriatric patients with a daily census of around 15. Special procedures include colonoscopy, EGD, ERCP, and EUS. The unit uses Olympus scopes and gastro imaging software. Emergency response duties may be assigned during hurricane season, which runs from June through November. Travelers should plan accordingly and refrain from confirming assignments during this period. All requests for time off must be included prior to submission for approval based on facility needs.
