Radiologic Technologist (DRT)

Overview General DRT / Radiologic Technologists / Radiographers support the San Francisco VA Medical Center located at 4150 Clement St, San Francisco, CA 94121. General Diagnostic Technologists perform radiography of the entire body. Exceptional compensation and benefits packages are available to qualified candidates. Responsibilities Perform radiography of the entire body. Perform procedures including Cholangiography, Lumbar and Thoracic Myelography, Gastrointestinal Studies, Intravenous Pyelograms, Arteriography, Operative Cholangiography, and Arthrography. Set up radiographic suites and ensure that sterilized supplies, contrast materials, catheters, and other required equipment/supplies are present and available. Prepare and administer contrast material orally, by enema, or intravenously under close supervision of radiologists; monitor vital signs and report any significant changes to a radiologist. Lift, position, push and transfer patients, supplies, and equipment as needed. Perform related clerical duties such as sending images to PACS, archiving images, and case editing of computer requests and reports. Maintain records and enter patient information into the computer through the Radiology Veterans Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VISTA) package. Qualifications English language proficiency. ARRT(R) certification (required). Graduate of an accredited Joint Review Committee on Education of Radiologic Technologists (JRCERT) program with a minimum of two (2) years of work experience. Experience with Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS); experience with Agfa PACS is preferred. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required). No sponsorship available. Physical Requirements Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift. Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist; lift up to 20 lbs and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance; push/pull with 30 lbs of force.
