Job Title: Clinical Nurse - Interventional Radiology Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Interventional Radiology Duration: 9 months Shift: 9:00 AM - 7:00 PM Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 2 years of RN experience; 2 years of interventional radiology experience preferred; 1 year of travel experience for Travel positions License: Client Registered Nurse License Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Must-Have: Critical thinking, patient care management, assessment skills, intervention skills, collaboration Description: The Clinical Nurse is a Registered Nurse who provides safe and competent quality care. Patient care is delivered by incorporating nursing theories and research to address patient needs. Assessment and evaluation of patient care needs is performed using critical thinking skills. Relevant assessment and intervention skills are integrated in the delivery of nursing care. Collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams is essential for planning and evaluating patient care. All aspects of patient care, including teaching and planning after hospital care, are prioritized. Patients and caregivers are educated about their plan of care, health promotion, and disease prevention. Effective communication is maintained with patients, families, and team members. Assignments are managed within a modified primary nursing model. The Clinical Nurse role includes responsibilities that enhance patient experience. Role modeling of relationship-centered care is performed through various actions, such as purposeful rounding and patient discharge wrap-ups. Patient values, preferences, and cultural diversity are considered in all aspects of care. A therapeutic relationship is established and maintained with patients and families. Evidence-based practices are utilized to improve patients' perception of care. Service recovery processes are initiated when patients express concerns. Caring, respect, compassion, empathy, and active listening are demonstrated consistently. Quality and safety of care are paramount in this role. Safe, efficient patient-centered care practices are implemented. Clinical skills and knowledge crucial to patient safety are demonstrated. Process improvement strategies are engaged in based on evidence-based practices. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to implement quality improvement projects is encouraged. Contributions to quality and safety practices are expected. High reliability principles are applied to identify and avoid potential safety hazards. Compliance with documentation standards is maintained. Operations related duties include performing charge nurse responsibilities when assigned. Coordination with management is essential for effective supply utilization. Documentation is done accurately in compliance with required standards. Facilitation of patient throughput is performed on a shift basis. Professional development is vital for the Clinical Nurse. Clinical competence is advanced to promote growth from novice to expert. Communication reflects a professional image and care-oriented demeanor. Ethical principles are incorporated into decision making for patients and families.
