Radiology Technologists use x-ray equipment to obtain images of the body interpreted by a Radiologist and are responsible for preparing patients for the exam, moving and instructing the patient into the proper position, correctly operating the equipment, and obtaining a high-quality image while minimizing radiation dose to the patient. Radiology Technologists may go on to specialize in more specific imaging techniques such as bone densitometry, cardiovascular-interventional radiography, computer tomography, mammography, magnetic resonance imaging and nuclear medicine. A caregiver in this position work sday/evening rotation| 7:30am—4:00pm or 11:30am—8:00pm. A caregiver who excels in this role will: Perform general radiology exams, portable exams and fluoroscopic procedures. Produce quality images for interpretation with accuracy and without delay. Acquire, archive, transmit and print images via PACS. Ensure patient comfort and safety during and after the exam. Educate patients regarding procedures, equipment and exams to ensure understanding and cooperation. Maintain documentation. Address equipment malfunctions, notify management and report malfunctions to the help desk and PACS administrator. Assist with scheduling procedures, monitor and determine priority of patients and process billing. Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: Graduate of an accredited school of radiologic technology Registered Technologist credentialed by The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists and in good standing Current state licensure as a Radiology Technologist Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross Knowledge of anatomy and related pathologic processes Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: One year of experience as a General Radiologic Technologist Previous bone density experience or willingness to be trained in bone density Physical Requirements: Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift or assist with lifting patients of varying weight and manipulate equipment daily.
