Operational Risk Officer

The Operational Risk Officer supports the execution of the bank's Risk Management framework, ensuring risk governance, risk appetite, and risk reporting processes are consistently applied across the institution. This role collaborates with business units and risk owners to identify, assess, monitor, and report operational risks, contributing to a strong risk culture and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities And Duties Represents the Second Line of Defense in providing credible challenge to management utilizing superior oral and written communication skills. Participates in risk governance committees and prepare documentation as needed. Conducts risk assessments across business lines, identifying and escalating emerging risks and control gaps. Oversees key risks and controls within their assigned areas of expertise. Performs monthly analysis and reporting in order to identify emerging risks. Coordinates and contributes to quarterly operational risk reports for executive management and Board Risk Committee. Provides oversight to applicable lines of business with risk and control self-assessment (RCSA), including review, challenge, and validation. Supports scenario analysis, risk appetite monitoring, and key risk indicator (KRI) tracking. Liaises with business units and support functions to ensure consistent application of operational risk management practices. Provides support during regulatory examinations and internal audits. Minimum Qualifications 5 years of experience in Risk Management for a mid-large sized organization Prior experience in financial services Preferred Qualifications 7+ years of experience in Risk Management Prior experience with policy management systems (Navex preferred) Strong skills in data analytics Advanced knowledge of Risk Appetite and Key Risk Indicators Educational Requirements University (Degree) Preferred Work Experience 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred Physical Requirements Physical Requirements: Sedentary Work Career Level 8IC $100,200 - $135,600 EverBank, N.A. is a nationwide specialty bank providing high-value products and services to consumer and commercial clients nationwide.
