Dietary Aide Long Term Care

Key Responsibilities
  • Meal Preparation & Service :  Prepare meals according to prescribed diets, physician recommendations, and established recipes. 
  • Dietary Compliance :  Ensure meals comply with dietary restrictions, allergies, and patient preferences, communicating with the nursing team and dietitians. 
  • Sanitation & Cleaning :  Wash dishes, clean equipment, maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and dining area, and follow all safety and hygiene regulations. 
  • Inventory & Stocking :  Monitor and take inventory of food supplies and kitchen equipment, ensuring appropriate stock levels for meal preparation. 
  • Dining Area Management :  Set tables, serve food to residents, clear dining areas, and manage waste and recycling. 
  • Communication :  Report patient concerns, such as low food intake, to supervising staff or dietitians. 
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Dietary Needs : Understanding of therapeutic diets, special dietary needs, and nutrition. 
  • Food Safety & Sanitation : Adherence to safety, hygiene, and food handling protocols. 
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills : Ability to effectively communicate with patients, residents, and other staff. 
  • Attention to Detail : Accuracy in following recipes, dietary orders, and cleaning schedules. 
  • Physical Stamina : Ability to stand for extended periods, lift trays, and perform demanding kitchen tasks. 
  • Teamwork : Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare and kitchen team. 
  • Basic Computer Skills :For recording data and using dietary management systems.
