Position Highlights: Logistics: Pay: $21.00+ per hour Contract Type: 1-year contract Schedule: 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded Location: 215 Perry Hill Road Montgomery, AL 36109 2400 Hospital Road Tuskegee, AL 36083 Requirements: Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship. 3+ years of professional painting experience and knowledge in the construction field. OSHA 30-hour construction certification. Ability to lift 50 lbs. Work at heights and climb ladders. Work in confined spaces. Work in high temperatures. Work in a noisy environment. Work may involve potential hazardous exposures such as asbestos, machine parts, soot, dirt, grease, chemicals, oil, and fumes. Ability to function safely while wearing a respirator - Work requiring an OSHA approved respirator and proper fit tested. Standing and bending for long periods of time. Previous experience with the VA is a plus. What does a typical day look like for the Painters ? You will: 8:00 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, Federal Holidays excluded. Perform coating work using accepted coating methods, such as brushing, rolling, and spraying. Applies coating techniques to ensure a smooth decorative appearance and meet thickness and level requirements. Applies coating materials with any of the accepted trade devices, including those designed to give special effects, for example, brushes, rollers, spray guns, and graining devices. Prepares surfaces with methods such as smoothing with pumice and rottenstone, filling, shaping, and leveling with metal and synthetic resins. Able to make repairs and alterations to paintable exterior and interior surfaces such as walls, floors, ceilings, windows, and doors. Apply techniques to remove wallpaper and prep surface. What qualifications do you look for?
