Care Home Lead | LPN / CNA / Nurse Aide — Aiea, HI Full-Time | 12-Hour Shifts - Family-Owned • Nurse-Owned • Low-stress Environment

WHO WE ARE

Kaamilo Hale is a licensed 8-resident adult residential care home in Aiea, owned and operated by a registered nurse. We are not a corporate facility. We are a small, calm, home-like environment where residents are known by name, care is personalized, and staff are treated like ʻohana.

We’re looking for a Care Home Lead — someone who can run the floor, guide caregivers, and hold the standard. This is not a task-follower role. This is a leadership position for someone who takes ownership.

THE ROLE

• Oversee and guide caregivers on shift — delegate, support, and hold the standard

• Provide direct ADL care and medication support within your scope of practice

• Monitor residents and report changes in condition to the nurse-owner

• Maintain accurate documentation and care records

• Communicate professionally with families, visiting providers, and support agencies

• Ensure safety, routine, and home standards are met every shift

• Work closely with the nurse-owner on overall care, staffing, and resident wellbeing

• Once routines are complete, shifts are often calm — this is not a high-chaos environment

REQUIREMENTS

One of the following credentials:

• Active/current CNA license, OR

• Active/current LPN license, OR

• Nurse Aide (NA) with documented proof of 6+ months experience in a licensed facility (not a care home or foster home) — we can assist with documentation retrieval 

• ARCH operator education certificate is a significant bonus

You must also be:

• A natural leader who guides others without being asked

• Highly organized and able to stay on task independently

• Fully committed to your assigned schedule — reliability is non-negotiable

• Experienced in a care home, assisted living, or LTC setting (required)

• A critical thinker who makes sound decisions without constant direction

• Looking for long-term stability, not a short-term placement

COMPENSATION

Nursing facilities pay similarly but assign 18–30 patients. Here you have 8 residents, a nurse-owner as your direct support, and a managerial role with real autonomy. The work is comparable — the environment is not.

Pay based on credential, experience, and availability:

LPN: $28–$33/hr | Total compensation est. ~$31–$38/hr

CNA Lead: $21–$25/hr | Total compensation est. ~$26–$30/hr

NA Lead: $19–$22/hr | Total compensation est. ~$24–$28/hr

Total compensation estimate includes 100% employer-paid health insurance, life insurance, IRA match, TDI, meals, and PTO. Performance and compensation review at 90 days.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS

We will help you complete all required paperwork before your start date.

• Fingerprint background check

• 2-step TB test (if not previously completed) and current TB within the past year; annual TB required thereafter

• Medical release form (provided by employer)

• Verification of credentials — active license, certificate, or documented facility experience (we can help obtain documentation)

We’re not looking for someone to fill a slot. We’re looking for someone to lead a home.
