Industrial Maintenance Mechanic: Stuarts Draft Plant Job Location: Stuarts Draft, VA Position Type: Hourly The Hershey Company Stuarts Draft plant is a non‑union plant producing multiple confectionery products in a high‑speed complex environment. Pay Starting pay rate: $44.64 per hour $1.00 per hour shift differential for working 2nd or 3rd shift Overtime potential Manufacturing Incentive Plan (MIP) Eligible 401(k) Retirement Plan – with generous company match Tuition Reimbursement Life Insurance and Short-Term Disability Shifts Flexible to work any shift, weekends, overtime, and holidays 3rd Shift schedule: Sunday – Thursday from 10:00 pm to 6:30 am Initial training on 1st shift for approximately 2 weeks, then moved to 2nd or 3rd shift Eligible to bid on other schedules, shifts, and jobs when posted Regular 8‑hour shifts with mandatory overtime possible weekly, daily, and/or weekends Interview / Hiring / Selection Process Written NOCTI skills assessment at the Stuarts Draft plant Onsite interview followed by hands‑on skills assessment Post‑offer drug screen and background check required Summary / Responsibilities Maintain equipment parts and supplies inventories by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipt Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests Required Background Skills and Minimum Qualifications Minimum 3+ years of experience in industrial, military, or owner/operator trades; food manufacturing experience preferred Effective functioning in a fast‑paced team environment High school diploma or G.E.D. At least 18 years of age Read, write, and speak English Flexible to work any shift, weekends, holidays, and overtime Authorized to work in the United States Basic understanding of PCs and computer skills, machine shop and welding skills Passing score on both written and practical mechanical assessments Preferred Qualifications Experience with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Experience with Safe Quality Food (SQF) practices Experience with Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Experience with Continuous Improvement methodology Experience with SAP Maintenance module Physical Demands Lift up to 50 lbs Work around operating equipment, confined spaces; stand, reach, stoop, crawl, walk, climb ladders, and bend regularly Working Conditions Manufacturing facility environment Required PPE: safety toe shoes, ear plugs, safety glasses/goggles, bump camps, hair and beard nets, gloves Company issued uniforms worn Equal Employment Opportunity The Hershey Company is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
