Role Description The Mortgage Loan Processor is responsible for managing residential loan files from application through closing, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company and regulatory guidelines. In this full-time hybrid role based in Melville, NY, the processor will review loan applications and supporting documentation, verify income, assets, liabilities, and credit information, and prepare files for underwriting. Day-to-day tasks include communicating with loan officers, underwriters, clients, and third parties to obtain required conditions, resolving documentation issues, and updating loan status in internal systems. The processor will monitor timelines, prioritize pipeline management, and help ensure loans meet closing dates while providing clear, professional communication to all stakeholders. Some work-from-home flexibility is available, depending on business needs and performance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of the mortgage industry and mortgage lending practices, including conventional, FHA, VA, SONYMA and other loan products.

• Hands-on experience with loan processing, from initial file setup through closing, including document review and pipeline management.
\n
• Understanding of underwriting principles and guidelines, with the ability to prepare complete, accurate files for underwriter review.
\n
• Experience working with various types of loans and loan programs, including purchase and refinance transactions.
\n
• Proficiency with mortgage loan origination systems and standard office software (e.g., LOS platforms, CRM tools, Microsoft Office or equivalents).

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• Clear, professional verbal and written communication skills and a client-focused mindset.
\n
• Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating with in-office and remote team members.
\n
• Prior experience as a Mortgage Loan Processor or in a related mortgage operations role strongly preferred.
\n
• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is a plus.
