District General Manager

Our client, a leader in the elevator industry, is seeking a District General Manager to oversee branch operations, financial performance, customer relationships, and team development in Houston, TX . This role carries full P&L responsibility and strategic oversight across all lines of business, including service, repair, modernization, and new installation. You’ll lead department managers and supervisors while setting branch priorities and supporting consistent execution. Own Financial Performance: Manage the branch P&L, monitor departmental results, and drive revenue, EBIT, gross margin, and budget performance. Drive Growth & Retention: Expand revenue, strengthen market performance, oversee customer retention efforts, and engage directly with key or at-risk accounts. Build Customer & Market Relationships: Maintain strong relationships with building owners, property managers, contractors, consultants, and other key stakeholders throughout Houston. Develop & Manage the Team: Lead, coach, and evaluate managers and employees while building accountability and driving performance across union and non-union teams. Champion Safety & Compliance: Reinforce a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with company standards, elevator codes, labor requirements, and applicable regulations. Cross-Functional & Business Oversight: Collaborate with regional and corporate teams across operations, sales, accounting, safety, HR, legal, and labor relations while overseeing key branch decisions involving contracts, pricing, purchasing, and financial commitments. What You’ll Bring to the Team: P&L & Operational Leadership: Proven experience leading a branch, business unit, or operation with responsibility for financial performance, profitability, and day-to-day execution. People Leadership: Demonstrated success developing managers and teams, driving accountability, and managing performance across multiple functions. Growth & Customer Management: Experience driving revenue growth, strengthening customer relationships, and supporting retention and business development. Business Judgment: Strong analytical and decision-making skills with the ability to evaluate performance, identify opportunities, and execute improvements. Education: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred Location: Houston, TX – Branch-based leadership position with local travel throughout the Houston market. Relevant backgrounds may include elevator operations, HVAC, mechanical contracting, fire and life safety, technical services, or other multi-functional service businesses.
