Physical TherapistCategory: Special EducationJob Function: Department: Summary Provides a continuum of physical therapy and support services to the students and staff in Fulton County; Supports children's ability to function, access, and participate safely in all school environmentsEssential Duties:Assists in the development of Individual Education Plans and 504 Plans for eligible studentsCollaborates with other members of in-school teams to plan and implement appropriate services for studentsProvides physical therapy services as stated in the Individual Education Plan or 504 PlanRecommends and assists in developing necessary adaptive equipment and modifications for specific student needsConducts appropriate assessments in accordance with District procedures and timelines and interprets results to teachers, parents, and other personnelProvides assistance to teachers in making appropriate instructional modifications for studentsPrepares and maintains required records and reports as directed by the District to monitor amount, type, and quality of services providedAdheres to professional, ethical, and legal standards of practiceAdheres to all District policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned by the appropriate administratorRequired Education: Bachelor's DegreeCertification/Licensure: Must hold current licensure in Physical Therapy by the State of GeorgiaExperience: 0-1 year related experience requiredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities:Excellent organizational skillsExcellent communication skills both orally and in writingWorking Conditions: Classroom environmentPhysical Demands:Ability to lift and carry 30-50 pounds with assistanceAbility to push or pull a maximum of 50 poundsMay require stooping or crouching
