About the Role

As a Substitute Preschool Teacher at Kid’s World, you will provide classroom support when a regularly assigned teacher is absent. You’ll work with different age groups, follow established lesson plans and routines, and help maintain a consistent learning experience. Our curriculum blends structured learning with play-based exploration to support early literacy, social-emotional development, and foundational skills.

You Will Also

• Lead developmentally appropriate activities, including stories, art, music and movement, sensory exploration, and outdoor play
• Adapt to different classrooms, age groups, schedules, and instructional needs
• Maintain classroom routines and help children transition smoothly between activities
• Supervise children during learning activities, meals, rest periods, outdoor play, and transitions
• Assist with age-appropriate personal care routines, including handwashing, toileting, diapering, and feeding, as needed
• Respond with patience and care to children’s physical and emotional needs
• Keep classrooms and learning materials clean, organized, and ready for use
• Collaborate with teachers and school leaders to provide a positive experience for students
• Communicate professionally with families about classroom activities and daily routines
• Follow school policies and applicable licensing requirements for health, safety, sanitation, and supervision

What We’re Looking For

• At least 12 postsecondary semester units, or equivalent quarter units, in Early Childhood Education or Child Development from an accredited college or university
• At least six months of experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program
• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
• Flexibility to work with different age groups and classroom teams
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• A patient, nurturing approach and a passion for early childhood education
• Ability to pass state and federal background checks
• Ability to meet the physical demands of working with young children, including sitting on the floor, lifting, bending, and engaging in active play
