Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)

Location: Oshkosh, WI 54901
Position Type: Contract (26 Weeks)
Schedule Options:

• Four 10-Hour Shifts: 12:00 PM – 10:30 PM
• Five 8-Hour Shifts: 2:00 PM – 10:30 PM
• Up to 40 Hours per Week

Job Summary:

Oshkosh Correctional Institution (OSCI) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide quality nursing care within a correctional healthcare environment. The LPN will work closely with the healthcare team to assess patient needs, administer treatments and medications, and ensure the delivery of safe and effective care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to patients in accordance with established nursing standards and facility policies.
• Administer medications, treatments, and injections as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Monitor and document patient health status, vital signs, and responses to treatment.
• Assist physicians, nurse practitioners, and registered nurses with examinations and procedures.
• Maintain accurate and timely patient records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
• Respond to medical concerns and provide appropriate nursing interventions.
• Educate patients regarding medications, treatment plans, and health-related concerns.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and correctional facility guidelines.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care.
  

Required Qualifications:

• Active Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the State of Wisconsin or compact state eligibility.
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
• Strong clinical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to accurately document patient care and maintain confidentiality.
• Ability to work effectively in a correctional healthcare setting.
