Production Scheduler

Production Scheduler Location: Detroit, MI Job Type: Full-Time | Monday - Friday (Weekend overtime opportunities available) Position Overview We are seeking a highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented Production Scheduler to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will be the driving force behind our production flow-coordinating schedules, monitoring order statuses, and ensuring we consistently exceed customer delivery expectations. Key Responsibilities
- Workflow Optimization: Coordinate daily scheduling activities to maintain a seamless production flow and maximize on-time delivery.
- Order Tracking: Monitor the status of assigned jobs to ensure work orders are released, processed, and shipped in strict accordance with customer due dates.
- Data Management: Process accurate, real-time inventory and production transactions within our ERP/MRP system.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Communicate daily with manufacturing departments, operators, and plant management to prioritize and expedite critical or past-due orders.
- Customer Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for customer scheduling inquiries, providing clear and timely updates on production status.
- Inventory Control: Maintain first-in, first-out (FIFO) scheduling practices while effectively managing in-process and finished goods inventory levels.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze production data to identify opportunities to improve workflow, eliminate bottlenecks, and boost overall operational performance.
- Experience: Previous scheduling or production control experience in a job-shop or manufacturing environment is highly preferred.
- Technical Savvy: Intermediate computer skills required (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook). Direct experience with MRP/ERP systems and production scheduling software is a major plus.
- Adaptability: Proven ability to manage multiple competing priorities with ease in a fast-paced, dynamic manufacturing environment.
