Area Superintendent - System Operations

General Job Description: In collaboration with other Field Superintendents and under the supervision of the Regional Manager, this position will be primarily responsible for the oversight of the operations, strategic planning and personnel management of the Start-Up, Air Balance, and Warranty group within the assigned area. Supervises: Area Supervisors, General Foreperson Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Lead and oversee all Start-Up eld activities to ensure standards and productivity are met in an eort to achieve company goals Operations Assist direct reports with Resource management Proper team selection including assignment of Forepersons Project execution strategies and scheduling Mentor, train, and develop future supervisors (succession planning) to meet current and future business needs. Weekly project progress, health, and safety reports Help to provide resolution of issues, challenges, and obstacles Execution of QA/QC protocols Implementation of Safety Department's protocols Engaging equipment vendors and third-party subcontractors Implementation of Acco policies and procedures Understand and ensure compliance with applicable union Collective Bargaining Agreements Planning for successful project installation Job Walks (with/for project management) Attend pre-bid & post-bid interviews Review bid estimates Participation in project kick-o, mid-job and wrap-up meetings Review project documents to determine the proper stang requirements Assignment of eld supervision and labor to projects Continuous evaluation of all personnel to ensure performance is at the highest level Monitor and advise on quality control measures to ensure high-quality output at or above industry standards Evaluate and advise on means and methods of continuous improvement to increase eciency and meet project goals Review and track project labor budgets Fill any project need gaps until job is assigned a eld supervisor Engage with labor relations representatives to create and foster meaningful, long-term relationships that support company goals including defending and resolving labor disputes Knowledge of current building and mechanical code Encourage communication between the assigned project supervision and the associated PM/PE. Coordinate and assist with problem solving strategies with the PM and assigned supervision when issues rise beyond the scope or understanding/capability of the project supervision assigned. Mentor Supervisors, General Forepersons and Forepersons to be elite leaders Assist Director in departmental budgets, nancial planning and eet management as needed Other tasks and duties as assigned by Regional Manager and/or upper management Strategic Planning Understand and support the strategic plan and corporate vision Ensure adoption and implementation of standard processes and procedures to achieve high level quality, productivity and eciency across eld operations Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with Start-Up activities (i.e.: installations, materials, equipment, personnel) Ensure safety measures are up-to-date and communicated eectively to all eld personnel in an eort to mitigate risk and reduce liability Personnel Management Adhere to and promote company policies Instill a culture of accountability, integrity, ethics, and respect within the department Mentor, train, and develop top performing supervisors (succession planning) to meet current and future business needs and avoid any gaps in strong leadership Coordinate labor requests with the local union labor halls Responsible for all hiring and termination of union System Operations sta within the assigned area Collaboration Create and foster collaborative relationships among leadership teams across varying departments and locations Participate in cross-functional initiatives and projects to meet company growth objectives Work closely with project management on bid strategies and current projects regarding Constructability Resource availability Labor budgets Project execution opportunities Potential project challenges Collaborate with fellow leadership and share experience to develop best practices, align processes, and leverage resources Position Requirements: (Skills, Work Experience, Education, Certications, Licenses, etc.) Strong industry knowledge Excellent leadership skills including honesty, integrity, patience, empathy, and a strong work ethic Eective communicator at all levels of the business Experience and deep understanding of the trades (sheet metal, pipe tting, process piping, plumbing, electrical, controls, start-up, TAB, site-utilities) and general fabrication practices 12+ years of experience in Construction leading projects Member of the local United Association union in good standing Occasional overtime and weekends will be required Willingness and ability to attend ACCO and Union training sessions Experience with the various business and corporate software technologies ACCO currently utilizes MS Office: Word, Excel, Project Google Workspace: Docs, Gmail, Sheets, Forms Others: Adobe, Procore, Bluebeam, Box, BuildingStart Proficient in English Valid driver's license and a clean driving record Skilled in reading and interpreting plans and specifications Knowledge of Local quality, occupational safety, and health regulations for construction job sites Additional Skills/Abilities Preferred, but Not Required: Member/aliate of local apprenticeship training programs Degree or certification in construction management, engineering, or architecture Experience in remote training software and technologies used within best-in-class organizations Software experience CRM/PM Platforms: Bidtracer Collaboration: Smartsheet, Slack, PlanGrid Trimble Proficient in Spanish ACCO Competencies: Proactivity/Initiative : Recognizes what needs to be done and accomplishes it in a manner appropriate for one's level/position and with minimal supervision.
