Local Roads and Streets Field Engineer (Civil Engineer V)

The Local Roads and Streets Field Engineer (Civil Engineer V) reviews and approves local agency proposals for expenditure of Motor Fuel Tax, Township Bridge Program, and federal funds for roadway and bridge projects. The position ensures compliance with state and federal guidelines, maintains technical competency throughout project lifecycles, and serves as the primary liaison between the Illinois Department of Transportation and local agencies. Based in Springfield, the role involves site travel, technical reviews of plans and specifications, and assistance with maintenance and construction questions. Key qualifications Licensed Professional Engineer or Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois Five years of experience in civil engineering Valid driver's license Ability to direct work of local agencies and ensure compliance with state and federal guidelines Supervisory experience (preferred) #J-18808-Ljbffr
