FabMax is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing / Process Engineer with direct experience programming laser and/or turret equipment in a precision sheet metal fabrication environment.

This role will work closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Operations to support day-to-day manufacturing, improve processes, troubleshoot production issues, and help ensure jobs are set up for efficient and successful production.

The ideal candidate has practical experience programming fabrication equipment and understands how engineering decisions impact the shop floor. Experience with Amada turret programming and Mitsubishi laser programming is preferred , but candidates with hands-on programming experience using other laser or turret systems are encouraged to apply.

What You’ll Do

• Program and support CNC laser and turret equipment 
• Develop and improve manufacturing processes for precision sheet metal components and assemblies 
• Review customer drawings, specifications, and engineering requirements 
• Support production with troubleshooting, manufacturability, and process-related issues 
• Develop and maintain manufacturing routings, work instructions, and process documentation 
• Support new product introduction and production readiness 
• Work with operators and supervisors to improve setups, throughput, material utilization, and overall efficiency 
• Assist with forming, welding, assembly, and related fabrication processes 
• Identify opportunities to reduce scrap, setup time, rework, and production delays 
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions 
• Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Quality, Production, and customers as needed 
• Support continuous improvement and implementation of new equipment, software, and manufacturing technology

Requirements:

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on laser and/or turret programming experience is required  
• Experience with Amada turret equipment and/or Mitsubishi laser equipment is strongly preferred  
• Experience programming other laser or turret brands will be considered 
• Background in precision sheet metal fabrication 
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T 
• Experience with CAD/CAM or CNC programming software 
• Understanding of forming, press brake, welding, and fabrication processes 
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills 
• Comfortable working directly with production personnel on the shop floor 
• Experience with ERP/MRP systems, routings, BOMs, or manufacturing documentation is a plus 
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related field is preferred; equivalent hands-on manufacturing experience will also be considered
