While rooted in nursing, the department also provides staffing support for Surgical Technologists, Emergency Room Technicians, Medical Assistants, and Patient Care Technicians, making it a vital partner in delivering high-quality patient care across the system. As part of our centralized float pool, team members have the unique opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings while gaining valuable, diverse experience. This role requires the ability to rapidly assess and adapt to multiple units and patient care environments while maintaining exceptional standards of care. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide direct patient care across theunit, utilizing clinical knowledge to develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans Perform comprehensive patient assessments and identify potential complications or changes in patient condition before significant clinical deterioration occurs Communicate effectively with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care Demonstrate flexibility and clinical judgment by rapidly orienting to different units, patient populations, and care protocols within the float pool environment Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards Collaborate with nursing leadership and clinical staff to support quality improvement initiatives and maintain safe patient care standards Work assigned day and night shifts as scheduled to meet organizational staffing needs **EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:** Bachelor's degree in Nursing (preferred) Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Two years of recent related clinical nursing experience in emergency department Demonstrated clinical performance and competency in nursing practice Willingness to float to multiple locations within the health system Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel Ability to rapidly assess and adapt to different units and care environments **CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED:** Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) Current ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) Current TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) #J-18808-Ljbffr
