Job Description Location: Henry Ford Medical Center - Sterling Heights 3500 15 Mile Rd, Sterling Heights, MI 48310 Schedule: Afternoons and Midnights; 48 hours per 6-week schedule period, including 24 hours on weekends and/or off-shifts (5:00 PM to 7:00 AM). Henry Ford Medical Center – Sterling Heights is a full-service medical center with providers specializing in adult and pediatric primary care, as well as allergy, cardiology, orthopedics, podiatry, pulmonary medicine, vascular surgery and sleep disorders. Other on-site services include laboratory, radiology and a pharmacy. Also offered at this site is a 24/7 emergency department and a walk-in clinic for non-emergency medical concerns. GENERAL SUMMARY: Delivers high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast‑paced Emergency Department environment. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide, delegate, supervise, and document comprehensive care and patient/family education. Communicates critical patient and family information to the healthcare team and collaborates to resolve variances from established patient goals. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients presenting with acute and emergent conditions Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examination, and psychosocial evaluation Establish and maintain IV access, administer medications, and perform emergency procedures as directed by physician orders Monitor and respond to changes in patient condition; elevate concerns to the healthcare team immediately Provide clear, timely communication of patient status, interventions, and outcomes to physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary team members Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, discharge instructions, and follow‑up care Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all patient care, assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic health record Delegate appropriate tasks to nursing assistants and support staff while maintaining accountability for patient safety Identify and implement solutions to address deviations from patient care goals and expected outcomes Maintain a safe, clean, and organized patient care environment in compliance with infection control and safety standards Demonstrate proficiency in emergency protocols, including trauma response, cardiac resuscitation, and pediatric emergencies Qualifications EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities to formulate effective nursing care plans Strong communication skills with patients, families, and healthcare team members CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURES REQUIRED: ACLS BCLS TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) 1+ years of Emergency Department or ICU experience as a Registered Nurse By clicking the link above or any third‑party link within this posting, you are leaving this site and going to a third‑party website where the third‑party website's terms and privacy policy apply #J-18808-Ljbffr
