MD Talent Development & Learning Strategy

Lead the enterprise operating model and organization design (OMOD) strategy for FedEx, establishing the frameworks, standards, and governance that shape how the organization, work, and jobs are structured to deliver business strategy. Partner with senior business and HR leaders to translate strategic priorities into effective operating models and organizational structures while governing organization design, job architecture, and effectiveness standards across the enterprise.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Define and evolve FedEx's enterprise organization design and operating model strategy, methodologies, and standards to enable business and workforce priorities
• Establish and govern enterprise organization design principles and frameworks, ensuring organizational decisions across business units and FedEx companies align with approved operating models and design standards
• Lead governance and prioritization of organization design projects, determining where specialized COE support is required and ensuring resources are focused on the highest-value initiatives
• Advise senior HR and business leaders on complex operating model and organization design decisions, including organizational structures, accountabilities, spans and layers, and distribution of work
• Establish and govern organizational effectiveness standards, including spans of control, organizational layers, structural efficiency, and other measures of organizational health
• Enable HR Business Partners to execute defined organization and job design changes, including business-as-usual organizational changes, through clear frameworks, tools, standards, and guidance
• Lead or oversee non-BAU organization design initiatives requiring specialized expertise, including significant organizational transformations and operating model changes
• Perform other duties as assigned

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

• Bachelor's degree/equivalent in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:

• 10 years of progressive experience in organization design, operating model design, organizational effectiveness, enterprise transformation, or a related discipline within large, complex organizations
• Experience leading enterprise-wide organization design and operating model initiatives, including significant organizational transformations and structural changes
• Demonstrated experience advising senior executives on complex organization design decisions, operating model choices, and organizational effectiveness opportunities
• Experience leading specialized organization design teams and overseeing a portfolio of enterprise organization design initiatives

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Strong understanding of job architecture, job families, leveling frameworks, and the connection between job design and broader talent and rewards practices
• Strong understanding of the intersections between organization design, workforce planning, talent strategy, change management, and financial planning
• Proven experience designing and evolving enterprise operating models, organizational structures, roles, accountabilities, spans and layers, and distribution of work to enable business strategy and workforce effectiveness
• Demonstrated ability to translate business strategy, financial considerations, operational requirements, and workforce priorities into practical organization design and operating model recommendations
• Proven ability to align senior business leaders, HRBPs, COEs, Finance, and other enterprise stakeholders around complex organization design decisions, governance requirements, and transformation priorities
• Experience incorporating relevant employment regulations, labor considerations, and jurisdictional requirements into organization design, restructuring, and workforce transformation decisions across a global organization
