The Company operates165 communities that are home to nearly12,000 residents across 35 states providing comfortable, safe, affordable communities where residents can form friendships, enjoy new experiences and receive personalized care from dedicated team members who treat them family.Job Description:Perform property accounting close processes on monthly basis, including Balance Sheet & Expense account reconciliation, property financial close package, AR Aging Review and Follow-up, Asset Management Accounting, Expense Accounts Variance Analysis on a timely manner.*This is a hybrid role based in our Dallas office.Responsibilities:Performs monthly property close process for assigned properties, including recording accruals, depreciation, revenue, and Accounts Receivable.Prepares monthly journal entries for assigned properties, including communicating with property-level leadership about required accruals and adjustments.Reconciles property-level bank statements and general ledger accounts monthly, including the documentation and resolution of variances or reconciling items.Analyzes and maintains the fixed asset records, including the addition, disposal and transferring of assets between properties, and investigating and correcting system discrepancies for assigned properties.Performs general ledger account analysis, including documenting variance explanations, for assigned propertiesPrepares monthly financial statements for assigned properties.Effectively communicates with property personnel and management.Assists in special projects or duties, as assigned.Education and Experience: BS in AccountingFive or more years of general accounting experience, preferably at a publicly traded companyExperience with multi-entity environments or property/ location-level accounting and reporting preferredSkill/knowledge Requirements:Experience with computer-based accounting systems, Yardi Voyager/Elevate a plusIntermediate to advanced MS Excel, including V-lookups and pivot tablesKnowledge of US GAAP, accounting procedures and internal controlsExperience reviewing financial statements and creating variance analyses required Ability to act and operate independently with minimal daily direction Solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, problem solving, and results.
