Accountant

Position Summary A Japanese IT solutions company is seeking an Accountant to support its Accounting Department. This position is responsible for reviewing and processing accounting transactions, supporting month-end close and financial reporting, handling audit documentation, and maintaining accurate financial records. The successful candidate will communicate with both U.S.-based teams and Japan Headquarters in English and Japanese. Responsibilities Review and validate accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger transactions Verify invoices, payments, receipts, journal entries, payroll entries, and bank reconciliations Research and resolve accounting discrepancies Support month-end closing, financial reporting, and audit activities Process financial transactions in SAP and related accounting systems Prepare and maintain accounting records and supporting documentation Collaborate with internal teams and Japan Headquarters Participate in meetings, training, and internal company activities Perform other related duties as assigned Qualifications Foundational knowledge of accounting principles Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, payroll entries, and bank reconciliations Strong accuracy and attention to detail Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders Business-level written and verbal communication skills in both English and Japanese Preferred Requirements Two to three years of general accounting experience Experience Using SAP, ERP, Or Other Accounting Systems Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel Accounting-related certification Ability to work independently while exercising appropriate judgment and follow-up LOCATION Manhattan, NY or Irving Texas (Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex) SALARY New York: USD 60,000-70,000 Texas: USD 50,000-60,000 Starting compensation will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, and skill level.
