About the Position

Job Title: RN Emergency Room Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Shifts Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years Emergency Nursing experience License: Active RN License Certifications: AHA Certified BLS, ACLS & PALS; NRP & TNCC certifications strongly preferred Must-Have: General ED nursing skills including but not limited to assessment, documentation, IV, phlebotomy, EKG, cardiac monitoring, point of care testing, splinting, critical thinking, and patient education. Description: Emergency Department is a 65-bed facility. The unit features a pod-based layout with a separate pediatric pod and a separate acute mental health area. The department handles approximately 230 visits per day. Clinician to patient ratio is 1:4. Floating may be required based on staffing needs. Rotating shifts will be required for day rotations, specifically during 7 am - 7 pm, 11 am - 11 pm, and 7 pm - 7 am when requested. Rotation frequency for day shifts is low, but the night position does not rotate. Experience in assessment and documentation is essential. Strong critical thinking and patient education skills are necessary for success in this role. Familiarity with the EPIC ASAP charting system is preferred.
