Registered Nurse (RN) - IMCU/PCU

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). This position offers the opportunity to work with patients in various stages of recovery, primarily focusing on neuro, cardiac, trauma, and respiratory conditions.

Unit Information

• Unit Type: Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU)
• Patient Demographics: Ages 18 and up
• Number of Beds: 64 beds, including 15 designated Neuro beds
• Common Diagnoses: Neuro, Cardiac, Trauma, Respiratory conditions (e.g., COPD, DKA, Sepsis, MI, post-op care)
• Specialty Equipment: Temp pacer, Chest tubes, A-lines, Bipap, Neptune Vapo

Shift Details

Shifts for this role will typically run from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM. Please note that block scheduling is not guaranteed. Flexibility may be required as floating to other units may be necessary.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in IMCU or PCU
• Experience with EMR systems, specifically EPIC
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Active New York RN license and all other RN licenses

Team Environment

This role involves collaboration with various healthcare professionals, including respiratory therapists, to provide comprehensive care to patients on chronic vents and other complex medical needs.
