Registered Nurse – IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Utica, NY | Intermediate Care / Stepdown Unit

Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate care nursing on a stepdown unit with a standard patient ratio of 4:1, adjusting to 5:1 based on acuity
• Manage vasoactive and sedation drips including Norepinephrine, Precedex, and Insulin (Glucomander protocol) at an IMCU level of care
• Monitor and manage arterial lines (A-lines) and TR bands as part of post-procedural care
• Care for stroke patients and support post-procedural recovery needs
• Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR (required)
• Adhere to time-off request guidelines of 7 days or fewer, with no more than 1 holiday request

Required Qualifications

• Valid New York State RN License (candidates who have at least applied for licensure may be considered)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience within the IMC/PCU/Stepdown specialty
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required; SSN required for clearance — candidates with pending SSN or work authorization cannot be cleared
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Stroke care and post-procedural nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience with arterial line management and TR band application
• Familiarity with Glucomander insulin protocols and vasoactive drip titration at an intermediate care level
