Job Title: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years required License: Valid Nursing License Certifications: BLS, NRP, AWHONN beginner or intermediate required; ACLS or AWHONN Advanced preferred Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse position available for first time travelers. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of experience. Shifts are three 12-hour nights, with every third weekend required. This is a true LDRP unit, where approximately 100 babies are delivered each month. The staffing ratio for labor is 1:1, and for mother/baby, it is 1:3-4 couplets. The facility is a teaching hospital that hosts both family medicine and Client residency programs. In-house OB Hospitalist and dedicated anesthesiologist available 24/7. Royal blue scrubs will be provided. Administration of medications, labor support, and postpartum care will be part of the responsibilities. Candidates should have experience with various labor and delivery procedures and newborn assessments. Additional skills required include effective communication and teamwork abilities. This role will involve direct patient care with neonates, adolescents, and adults. A daily census is approximately 12 patients, covering 22 beds in total. Interdisciplinary support services are available to enhance patient care. The ability to handle high-risk deliveries and provide educational support to families is essential. Candidates must adhere to all facility protocols and standards.
