This role is responsible for creating, validating, and maintaining electrical inspection, validation equipment, processes, and documentation, be a key part of the Integrated Product Team to develop and execute validation and test plans, and collaborating with other engineering disciplines, program management, quality assurance, and manufacturing. This role is apart of the Agile Development Group which is a division that specializes in developing disruptive, next-generation technologies for advanced Unmanned Air Systems (UAS / UAV), advanced radar systems, next-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience.Essential Functions:Research, define, design, analyze, and validate production tests for products.Design, develop, and maintain tools, fixtures, and scripts used to automate board level and assembly level testing.Research, define, design, analyze, and validate production tests for new products.Examine early assembly prototyping/testing to provide feedback in the design process.Identify and justify capital equipment needs for capacity and capability expansion.Provide technical mentorship for team in areas of expertise.Contribute to CAM and IPT activities.Initiate and review manufacturing workflow and processes/procedures such as:Work/assembly instructions Rework and modification instructions Travelers/routers Special process instructions Standard repair instructionsReview and approve drawings for the Manufacturing Department (i.e. sign off authority).Communicate information between the design and manufacturing teams and ensure that design feedback from manufacturing is relayed to engineering.Lead and support Lean Manufacturing initiatives in the organization such as 5S, Tool Control, etc.Up to 5% travel may be required.Qualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering and minimum 6 years of prior Manufacturing engineering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior Manufacturing engineering experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior Manufacturing engineering experience.Active US secret security clearance.Preferred Additional Skills:Masters degree in relevant engineering field or related field and/or equivalent experience desired.Experience leading small teams.Running automated and manual test scripts for acceptance testing, software/firmware loading, and sensor calibration.Experience with technical writing, specifically work instructions and process documentation.Experience in aviation or military systems manufacturing.Experience with creating and presenting performance metrics.Experience with Capital Equipment justification and BOEs.Excellent people skills to include collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team environment.Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, & presentation).Experience/certification in lean practices; 5S, six sigma.In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role in Ashburn, Va is $96,000 - $178,000. This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
