Litigation paralegal

Our client is a nationwide firm specializing in unpaid wage and overtime cases, dedicated to fighting for workers rights.

The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of direct litigation paralegal experience.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Guide and supervise the team, legal assistant and any other support staff.

• Review Legal Assistants work for accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with federal and state court rules.

• Ensure all ECF's (Electronic Filings) from Federal Court and State Court are being reviewed and calendared pursuant to Federal Rules, Local Rules, and or Judge's Rules

• Allocate resources based on case deadlines, trial calendars, and attorney needs.

• Train legal assistant and support staff on any new case protocols in wage and hour case management.

• Coordinate with attorneys on case strategy, discovery, and client communications.

• Focuses on substantive legal tasks, including legal research, drafting legal documents, and assisting with trial preparation.

• Deep understanding of legal concepts and procedures.

• Works closely with attorneys on the legal casework itself, analyzing discovery and summarizing findings.

• May have more substantive communication with clients regarding case information or explaining procedures.

• Assist with finalizing and filing all pleadings, as delegated.

Deposition Support:

• Create shell/draft of deposition notices

• Obtain client availability

• Schedule Travel

• Ensure/confirm depositions are calendared and court reporters and/or video graphers are scheduled

• Ensure you are receiving and saving deposition transcripts

• Submit Transcript Invoice through litify for payment

Mediation:

• Ensure Mediation packet has been received, calendared, and payment is made

• Ensure all data has been received in preparation for Mediation

Trial:

• Maintain trial folder

• Create shell/draft Exhibit List

• Create shell/draft Witness List

• Ensure clients are aware of trial obligations

• Prepare attorney trial and exhibit binders

Settlement:

• Reporting settlement in Litify

• Ensure all case expenses are captured

• Ensure deadlines from the MOU, Settlement Agreement, and/or the Approval are accurately calendared

• Obtain signature for the Settlement Agreement and any supporting tax forms

Work Mode: In office.
Salary: $80K - $90k Annually.
