This is what we believe makes us the best place to start or build your career.Overview: The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for negotiating vendor contracts on behalf of business units, focusing on low-to-medium value and moderately complex sourcing initiatives. This includes negotiating pricing and key contractual terms such as indemnification, limitation of liability, and confidentiality. The role partners closely with business units to understand project needs, support vendor-related initiatives, and assess impacts across the firm. The Specialist must demonstrate emerging systems thinking and analytical skills to identify and implement cost savings, cost avoidance, and risk mitigation opportunities. Success requires strong relationship-building, clear communication, and effective management of multiple sourcing initiatives.What You'll Do:Lead multiple, concurrent sourcing initiatives in a cross-functional team environment that will include strategy, vendor selection, market intelligence, vendor and product viability and contract execution.Negotiate commercial and contractual terms with vendor executives and internal Legal partners.Guide senior leaders toward optimal purchasing decisions by balancing business requirements and cost.Execute on defined objectives aligned to Sourcing Strategies through the development and distribution of RFx's (RFI, RFQ, RFP), vendor communication, development of vendor selection criteria, and collaboration with cross-functional teams including business owners and legal.Maintain accurate records and data within the contract management system and other related sourcing toolsUse procurement tools and systems to create operational efficiency and visibility across the enterpriseIdentify and pursue ad hoc opportunities to reduce product/service costs and support the implementation of operational improvement initiativesDemonstrate continuous learning and growth in sourcing skillsWhat You'll Need:Bachelor's degree required.Requires a minimum of 4 years related work experience, preferably involving negotiation and contractsUnderstanding of Supply Chain management concepts and proceduresUnderstanding of legal and contracting environmentsUnderstanding of operating environments of areas such as Finance, HR, Marketing, Information Systems.Ability to identify and avoid potential conflict of interest to ensure ethical business standards and practices are followed.Ability to communicate cost models, risk, and business concepts at the executive levels throughout the firm and with any given vendorPeople and project management / organizational development skills requiredDemonstrated ability to influence without authority and communicate upward and across divisions are required.Candidates that live within a commutable distance from our Tempe, AZ and St. Louis, MO home office locations are expected to work in the office four days per week.
