Must have CHST (or other BCSP certifications such as CSMC). Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Health & Safety. OSHA 510/500, OSHA 30, First Aid CPR certified. Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, Excel, PowerPoint. Excellent communication and customer relationship skills. Willing to travel within the region and work overtime and weekends if needed. Job Summary Responsible for implementing, administering, and monitoring all IES safety policies, procedures, and programs for assigned locations, departments, and projects. Ensures compliance with IES, Site/Customer safety policies, and federal and state standards. Develops and manages safety/health initiatives aimed at preventing and eliminating occupational incidents, injuries, and illnesses. Performs and instructs in proper techniques to proactively analyze, evaluate, and address workplace hazards and incidents. Job Duties And Responsibilities Fully support all IES and Site/Customer safety policies, procedures, and programs and federal and state standards. Ensure implementation and compliance with IES safety policies, procedures and programs within the Communications Division. Support guidance for developing action plans for any branch, office or project not meeting safety goals. Perform and develop safety presentations and related training. Schedule and coordinate safety audits/inspections to determine compliance with safety policies and federal, state standards. Identify hazards and develop safety action plans; work with operations and management to implement them. Develop processes and plans to reduce or eliminate hazards and safety incidents. Deliver and coordinate safety training for management on accident prevention techniques and compliance with safety policies and standards. Prepare written reports and summaries regarding safety audits, investigations, and issues. Conduct and coordinate root‑cause investigations on recordable incidents, near misses, and vehicle incidents. Use root‑cause analysis to help operations implement corrective actions and prevent future incidents. Establish committees, conference calls, and video meetings to facilitate communication within the region. Notify the Director of Safety and DSM of any OSHA inspection and provide guidance to local resources. Prepare and maintain safety records and reports, including OSHA 300 logs and incident data. Teach, counsel, and mentor stakeholders to uphold the IES safety culture. Participate in hiring and managing site safety coordinators and managers. Participate in claims reviews for claims within the region and division as needed. Travel as required for business needs. Other responsibilities as assigned. Able to lift 50 lbs. Maintains body equilibrium to prevent falls. Able to learn company and customer computer systems. Education, Certification, License, And Skill Requirements High School diploma or GED equivalency; associate degree or higher preferred. Minimum seven (7) years’ experience in construction safety, preferably in telecommunications or electrical industry; or equivalent experience. Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1926 Safety and Health Regulations for Construction. Knowledge of Confined Space Entry Standards 1926.1200 Subpart AA. Current Authorized OSHA OTI 500 Construction Outreach Trainer. CHST (Construction Health/Safety Technician) certification or equivalent. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient computer knowledge and experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook). Detail‑oriented with high level of organizational skills. Effective communication with project stakeholders, field personnel, IES management, and customer interfaces. Ability to respond to all safety emergency situations on short notice. Meets minimum driving standards. Manages multiple tasks/projects simultaneously. Minimum Years Of Experience 6+ years. Minimum Education High School.
