Associate Respiratory Care Practitioner

Job Overview Associate Respiratory Care Practitioner (Perdiem) at Providence St. Mary Medical Center, Apple Valley, CA. 12‑hour variable shifts. Responsibilities Provide Respiratory Therapy in non‑critical and all adult critical care areas as ordered by the Medical Staff. Perform procedures including mechanical ventilation (BIPAP), oxygen therapy, limited and comprehensive patient assessments, chest physiotherapy, coughing and breathing exercises, aerosol therapy, CPR, administration of aerosolized medications and therapeutic gases. Draw, analyze, and interpret blood gases; perform quality control and maintenance on blood gas and co‑oximetry instruments. Exercise independent judgment, make Respiratory Care decisions and act based on hospital and departmental policies and procedures. Supervise respiratory care students and report appropriately through the chain of command. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program. California Respiratory Care Practitioner License by hire. National Provider BLS (American Heart Association) by hire. National Provider ACLS (American Heart Association) within 90 days of hire. National Provider PALS (American Heart Association) within 90 days of hire. Clinical experience in respiratory therapy with background in physiology and pharmacology. Compensation and Benefits Pay Range: $36.74 – $54.16 per hour; additional compensation may include shift differentials, standby/on‑call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses.
