Accounts Payable Specialist

Emerald City Associates is a fast-growing private equity firm specializing in real estate investment, development, and property management (Green Alpha Property Management) across the U.S. With a start‑up culture and big ambitions, we’re scaling rapidly and need analytical minds to keep our financial engine running smoothly. We’re seeking a reliable and organized Accounting Specialist to support our day-to-day accounting operations. This role is responsible for processing invoices, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring vendors are paid accurately and on time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment. What You’ll Do: Process vendor invoices, reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner Process corporate and utility billing Prepare and submit bank draw requests Prepare and process weekly check runs and electronic payments Respond to vendor inquiriesAssist with expense coding and ensure invoices are assigned to the appropriate general ledger accounts Support month‑end closing by preparing reports and reconciliations Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation Assist with other accounting and administrative duties as assigned What We’re Looking For: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field Previous accounts payable or general accounting experience preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office Experience with accounting software; Oracle experience is a plus but not required Strong attention to detail and organizational skillsBasic understanding of accounting principles Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines Strong communication skills and a customer-service mindset when working with vendors and internal teams Experience in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment is a plus Why Join Us?
