Certified Medical Office Assistant Overview

We are seeking a self-motivated, energetic, and charismatic Certified Medical Assistant who enjoys helping people stay young and healthy. As a Certified Medical Assistant, your role is critical to our success. The duties include speaking with patients in person, over the phone, and via email. The Certified Medical Assistant is often the first point of contact for our patients and needs to set the tone for a positive experience.

Since the practice is growing in popularity exponentially, task and time management, organization, and communication are key. Our schedule is constantly booked, and keeping track of what to do at all times is paramount. The target is to complete all activities accurately, with high quality, in a timely manner.

Certified Medical Assistant with Phlebotomy Experience

OC Functional Medical Center is seeking a professional, compassionate, and detail-oriented Certified Medical Assistant with phlebotomy experience to join our growing medical practice in San Clemente, CA.

We are looking for someone who is dependable, patient-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced clinical environment. The ideal candidate has strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and experience performing blood draws, rooming patients, assisting providers, and supporting daily patient care.

Responsibilities

The Certified Medical Assistant will assist with both clinical and administrative duties, including:

Preparing patients for provider visits
Taking and documenting vital signs
Reviewing medical history, medications, and patient concerns
Performing blood draws and specimen collection
Preparing specimens for lab processing and pickup
Assisting providers during exams and procedures
Administering injections as directed and permitted by certification/licensure
Maintaining clean, stocked, and organized exam rooms
Documenting accurately in the electronic medical record
Communicating with patients in a professional and compassionate manner
Supporting front office and patient flow as needed
Following all HIPAA, OSHA, and infection-control requirements

Qualifications

Current Certified Medical Assistant certification required
Phlebotomy experience required
Experience in a medical office or outpatient clinic preferred
Strong venipuncture skills and comfort drawing blood
Excellent patient communication and bedside manner
Ability to multitask while maintaining attention to detail
Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented
Comfortable using electronic medical records
Interest in functional, preventive, or integrative medicine is a plus)

Compensation:

$23-25 per hour
