We offer the opportunity for professional accomplishment and growth with diverse, talented, and collaborative Team Members in a dynamic work environment at a company with an indisputably important mission—to help people live healthier lives.Position SummaryThe Associate General Counsel strengthens Life Time by providing legal support to help clients advance their business goals and objectives while mitigating legal risk, including cross functional contribution to business initiatives.Job Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvides advice and counsel to internal clientsDrafts and negotiates letters of intent, leases, purchase agreements, amendments, declarations, easements, correspondence relating to real estate transactions and other real estate documentationReviews title and survey and due diligencePosition RequirementsFour-year undergraduate degreeJ.D. from an accredited law school, with strong academic credentials12+ years of progressive experience in commercial retail/office real estate leasing, acquisition, disposition and development, with a demonstrated track record of handling complex, high-value transactionsDeep expertise in leasing, drafting and negotiating retail and office leases, subleases, amendments and termination agreements is critical, including the ability to identify and resolve novel or non-standard lease issues independentlyDeep expertise in reviewing, drafting and negotiating real estate development/acquisition or disposition documentation, with the ability to lead deal execution from letter of intent through closingExcellent academic and law firm/in-house credentialsA strategic and innovative approach to legal issues, with the ability to anticipate risk and proactively shape business initiatives and objectives at the enterprise levelA high level of professionalism, executive presence, and outstanding business judgment, with the ability to advise and influence senior leadership on real estate strategyProven ability to independently spearhead, prioritize, and manage a high volume of concurrent real estate and development transactions in a fast-paced, high-growth company with minimal oversight.
