Your Impact

The Vertex Process Engineering Data Analytics Co-Op is a 6-month experiential training program for students currently working towards an advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or other related fields. If you are passionate, collaborative, and growth-minded, a co-op at Vertex will help you gain meaningful experience in our Technical Operations - Drug Product functional areas and serve as a launchpad for your career.

What you will be doing:
The Vertex Technical Operations-Drug Product team is looking for a motivated Co-op to join our team this spring. The Co-op will be responsible for assessing historical manufacturing/process data to identify trends and identify oppurtunities to improve the process. The Co-op will have the opportunity to interact with multiple departments (Drug Product Operations, Quality Operations and Analytical Development), as well as work with talented people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze historical manufacturing/process data to identify trends, patterns, variability and potential process drivers-
• Perform data cleaning, visualization and statistical analysis using tools such as JMP, Excel or Power BI
• Develop meaningful visualizations and dashboards to communicate process performance and emerging trends
• Partner with Manufacturing Science & Technology and Quality teams to translate data into actionable process insights.
• Collaborate in a cross-functional team to develop solutions
• Identify opportunities to improve process monitoring, data utilization and manufacturing performance.
• Present findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders .

Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in a College/University and have at least finished one year of a Master’s or phD degree in Chemical Engineering or Biomedical Engineering with a strong background in statistics and data analytics.
• Strong self-initiative, communication, and interpersonal and relationship skills
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an interest in manufacturing process data
• Proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization.
• Proficiency in Excel; experience with JMP /Minitab is preferred.
• Minimum 3.5 GPA
• Legal authorization to work in the United States, now and in the future. Please note that Vertex does not provide sponsorship for internships/co-ops or entry level roles within this part of the organization.
• You must be enrolled in an advanced degree program if graduating before May 2027
• You must be available to work full-time, 40 hours per week from January – July 2027

Program Details:

• Full-time, paid co-op $30.00 – 50.00 USD/hour

• Program Dates: January – July 2027

The range provided is based on what we believe is a reasonable estimate for the base salary pay range for this job at the time of posting. This role is eligible for an annual bonus and annual equity awards. Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay, in accordance with federal and state requirements. Actual base salary pay will be based on a number of factors, including skills, competencies, experience, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
