About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night 3x12-Hour Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: California state license required; pending license not accepted Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC Must-Have: Previous charge experience preferred Experience with patient ratios of 4:1 Description: Winter bill rate increase will be effective from October through February. Cancellations due to the rate change after signature will result in a systemwide DNR. Start date is ASAP. Travelers will cover the observation unit which consists of ER hold patients. No call requirement. Weekend requirement is 3 out of 6. Patient age groups include neonates, adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The average daily census is approximately 105 with about 135 visits per day. There are 20 rooms and 26 beds in the unit. Preferred TNCC certification in hand, but can be sent as screened if willing to obtain TNCC prior to start. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in termination of assignment. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams. Travelers must commit to working 3 of the 5 holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day. Must request all time off and specific scheduling requests up front. Inflexibility beyond the contracted schedule may lead to termination of contract. References required covering the last 1 year. Travelers should be prepared to manage various patient conditions and perform several essential nursing skills. Travelers must engage effectively with interdisciplinary team members to provide optimal patient care.
