Regional Vice President, Sales- Public Sector

As Sr. Director of Public Sector Sales at Virta, you will lead the strategy, growth, and execution of our public sector business, with a primary focus on state and local governments and labor organizations. You will serve as a senior leader within the commercial organization, partnering closely with executive leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders to accelerate market expansion, develop high‑performing sales professionals, and scale repeatable growth systems. This role requires a proven leader who can operate strategically and tactically, influence across the organization, and drive meaningful business outcomes in a complex and evolving market. Responsibilities Own strategy, growth, and business outcomes for Virta's Public Sector segment. Lead and develop high‑level sales professionals responsible for the national public sector. Shape Public Sector sales strategy and market expansion in partnership with executive leadership. Identify and capitalize on emerging market opportunities, partnerships, and growth channels. Build executive relationships with government, labor, consultant, and partner stakeholders. Drive forecasting accuracy, pipeline health, and revenue performance across the segment. Design scalable operating models, talent strategies, and organizational structures. Champion adoption of AI‑enabled workflows, sales methodologies, and best practices. Serve as sponsor for strategic accounts, partnerships, and market initiatives. Represent Virta as a thought leader across industry, government, and labor organizations. Foster a high‑performance culture grounded in accountability, development, and results. Reinforce Virta’s mission‑driven culture and values across the commercial organization 90 Day Plan Assess market opportunity, business performance, and organizational capabilities. Build relationships with executive stakeholders, key customers, consultants, and partners. Evaluate talent, operating rhythms, and growth strategies. Identify strategic opportunities to accelerate growth and market penetration. Must‑Haves 15+ years of experience in public sector sales, business development, or commercial leadership roles. Experience leading and developing high‑performing public sector sales teams in a fast‑paced environment. Strong track record of driving revenue growth, forecasting accuracy, and quota attainment. Experience selling complex healthcare, benefits, or enterprise solutions. Experience building relationships with public sector decision‑makers, consultants, brokers, and strategic partners. Ability to develop and execute go‑to‑market strategies that drive market growth and expansion. Excellent leadership, communication, and cross‑functional collaboration skills. Ability to use data and market insights to drive decision‑making and business performance. Successfully designed and implemented AI‑enabled workflows or processes that improve team efficiency and effectiveness. Knowledge of the key events, associations, partnerships, and channels that influence awareness and purchasing decisions within the public sector market. Preferred Qualifications Familiarity with value‑based care, digital health, or chronic condition management. Deep relationships with state and local government buyers, labor organizations, and key public sector influencers. Experience scaling teams, processes, and market presence in a high‑growth organization. Demonstrated success navigating complex enterprise sales cycles. Experience partnering with healthcare consultants, brokers, associations, or strategic channel partners to drive market growth. Experience representing an organization at industry conferences, trade associations, or thought leadership events. Virta has a location‑based compensation structure. Starting pay will be based on a number of factors and commensurate with qualifications & experience. As part of your duties at Virta, you may come in contact with sensitive patient information that is governed by HIPAA. Throughout your career at Virta, you will be expected to follow Virta's security and privacy procedures to ensure our patients' information remains strictly confidential. Security and privacy training will be provided. As a remote‑first company, our team is spread across various locations with office hubs in Denver and San Francisco.
